Ethiopia halts new licenses for crypto mining firms due to capacity constraints

Ethiopia has suspended the issuance of new electricity licenses to cryptocurrency miners due to capacity constraints. This decision comes amid a surge in interest in Bitcoin mining. Twenty-five Bitcoin mining companies are currently operating, with nearly 20 more awaiting approval, largely due to Ethiopia's low electricity prices and abundant hydropower resources.
