U.S. PPI growth hits highest level in three years in July

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Thursday that the producer price index (PPI) rose 0.9% from the previous month after being unchanged in June. The index is up 3.3% from a year ago. Excluding food, energy, and trade services, the index rose 0.6% from June and is 2.8% higher than a year ago.
