Starknet passes SNIP-31 proposal, will support Bitcoin staking in the coming weeks

According to official news, the Starknet community has officially approved SNIP-31, and Bitcoin staking will soon be available. Specific parameters include: BTC staking weight set at 0.25, representing up to 25% of consensus power, with the remaining weight allocated to STRK. Additionally, WBTC, LBTC, tBTC, and SolvBTC have been approved for staking on Starknet, and governance rules for newly added Bitcoin wrapped assets have been established. Officials expect the feature to launch in the coming weeks. Previous reports indicate that Starknet will enter a crucial phase of decentralized ordering on September 1st, with the next key focus being SNIP-33.
