MetaMask launches social login feature, supports creating and restoring wallets using Google or Apple accounts

MetaMask has announced the launch of a social login feature to simplify the process of creating and managing MetaMask wallets. Users can create, back up, and restore their wallets using either a Google or Apple account. No single entity, not even MetaMask, has access to all the information needed to retrieve a user's Secret Recovery Phrase (SRP), maintaining the self-custody nature of its wallets. Only the user's social credentials, combined with their unique password, can ultimately unlock the SRP on their local device.
