Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra met with global digital asset investors in Bangkok on August 26 to discuss a proposal to position Thailand as an ASEAN digital asset hub. The meeting proposed establishing a sovereign strategic reserve to enhance the long-term resilience of Thailand's financial system and economy, a proposal supported by several international firms, including Metaplanet and UTXO Management. Other attendees included Nakamoto Holdings, Sora Ventures, and AsiaStrategy. Kip Tiaviwat, founder of Kliff Capital, stated that this move is an important step toward realizing Thailand's vision of becoming an ASEAN Bitcoin and digital asset hub.
