The US Department of Commerce has begun publishing official economic statistics directly on public blockchains, describing this as a new approach to transparency and data security. The pilot program launched on Aug. 28 includes nine networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, TRON, Stellar, Avalanche, Arbitrum One, Polygon PoS, and Optimism.
