Bloomberg: Binance is in talks with the U.S. Department of Justice to abandon its independent compliance oversight body

Binance is in talks with the U.S. Department of Justice on a potential deal that would allow the exchange to waive a key oversight requirement in exchange for paying $4.3 billion to settle charges of failing to adequately prevent money laundering. Federal prosecutors are discussing the requirement for an external compliance monitor with Binance.
