Russia's Central Bank wants to use tokenization solutions to allow foreign buyers to buy shares in Russian companies

The Central Bank of Russia hopes to use tokenization solutions to allow foreign buyers to acquire shares in domestic companies. Vladimir Chistyukhin, First Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Russia, addressed this issue at a recent sideline event at a financial forum. When asked about the tokenization of Russian shares, the central bank official responded positively, calling it a "viable option." However, Chistyukhin noted that foreign participants would need to provide technical and platform solutions. "Foreign partners will play an important role in this area," he said. "I'm referring to foreign entities interested in tokenizing Russian assets for trading abroad."
