RNS.ID announces crackdown on counterfeit Palauan IDs and initiates secondary review and blocking
Palau's digital ID project, RNS.ID, will integrate with global fraud blacklists and implement secondary verification. These measures include providing an official API to KYC providers and partner platforms to verify document numbers, issue dates, photos, and dates of birth. Those who fail secondary verification will be marked as fraudulent and synchronized with the database. Those found to have forged or impersonated IDs will be permanently banned, with their names, birthdays, and profile photos added to a global fraud database for automated identification by various institutions. Evidence will also be collected and transferred to jurisdictions such as China for criminal prosecution of those responsible for forging state documents and committing fraud.
