The American Community Bankers Association urges the OCC to block Sony's stablecoin license.

ICBA claims that its stablecoin has "deposit-like" characteristics but is not subject to FDIC or CRA regulations, and may violate the Bank Holding Company Act restrictions through debit cards and other means. ICBA also questions the influence of the Sony Group over Sony Financial.
