Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated in an article on the X platform that encrypted communication tools like Signal are crucial for protecting users' digital privacy. Currently, there are two key directions for advancement in this field: enabling permissionless account creation and ensuring metadata privacy. The instant messaging applications Session and SimpleX are actively exploring these directions. To this end, Buterin donated 128 ETH to each of them.
