The six major state-owned banks announced that starting tomorrow, interest will be accrued on the balance of their real-name digital RMB wallets; the current demand deposit rate is 0.05%.

The rules for calculating and settling interest are the same as for demand deposits. The current listed interest rate for demand deposits is 0.05%. These four types of wallets are not considered "real-name wallets" for which banks calculate interest.
