The Ministry of Commerce responded to the review of Meta's acquisition of Manus: Enterprises engaging in overseas investment and other activities must comply with Chinese laws and regulations.

Enterprises engaging in outbound investment, technology export, data transfer, cross-border mergers and acquisitions must comply with Chinese laws and regulations and follow legal procedures. The Ministry of Commerce, in conjunction with relevant departments, will conduct an assessment and investigation into the consistency of this acquisition with relevant laws and regulations concerning export controls, technology import and export, and outbound investment.
