Paul Atkins, Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), stated on the X platform: “This is a pivotal week for cryptocurrency—Congress is at the forefront of upgrading 21st-century financial markets. I fully support Congress providing a clear definition of the jurisdictional division between the SEC and the CFTC. The most important thing we can do for investors right now is to bring the crypto asset market out of the regulatory gray area. Passing bipartisan market structure legislation will help us guard against bad regulators and ensure that President Trump’s goal of making the U.S. the world’s cryptocurrency capital is achieved.
