The American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACCA) has urged the CFTC to suspend prediction markets related to college sports.

The NCAA has sent a letter to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) requesting a halt to prediction market trading related to college sports. The NCAA argues that these prediction markets function essentially like sports betting, but circumvent the age restrictions, advertising constraints, and integrity monitoring required of licensed sports betting organizations. Currently, college sports-related contracts traded on Polymarket have reached approximately $320 million in value.
