European stocks opened sharply lower as tariff risks between the US and Europe reignited.

The Euro Stoxx 50 index opened down 1.7%, the German DAX index fell 1.3%, the UK FTSE 100 index fell 0.4%, the French CAC 40 index fell 0.7%, and the Italian FTSE MIB index fell 1.6%.
