India has banned the trading of privacy coins and required crypto platforms to remove anonymous tokens.

India’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), the agency under the Ministry of Finance, has ordered domestic cryptocurrency exchanges and platforms to stop offering Anonymity Enhanced Crypto Tokens (ACEs), prohibit the deposit or withdrawal of such tokens, and treat them as “unacceptable assets” under the risk mitigation framework.
