Senate Agriculture Committee talks on encrypted legislation have taken a turn for the better as Democrats have expressed their willingness to return to negotiations.

A Democratic aide familiar with the negotiations said that although the Republicans unilaterally drafted a new version of the bill in early January without consulting the Democrats and planned to push it to a vote, which hindered the bipartisan cooperation process, a group of Democratic lawmakers are still willing to return to the negotiating table with the committee chairman, Republican Senator John Boozman's team, in order to try to reach a bipartisan consensus before the vote.
