The U.S. Department of Defense has appointed a former DOGE official as Chief Data Officer to lead efforts in the field of AI.

CoinFeed reported on March 7 that, according to Reuters, the U.S. Department of Defense has appointed computer scientist Gavin Kliger as Chief Data Officer. Kliger previously assisted billionaire Elon Musk in pushing for U.S. government reforms last year. Kliger will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and execution of the Department of Defense's artificial intelligence projects, working directly with cutting-edge AI labs to support warfighters.
