Trump also stated that he knew oil and gas prices would rise, and that the increase was less than he expected (overnight crude oil prices fell sharply); he expressed "disappointment" with the new Iranian leader; and that if Iran disrupts oil supplies, the US will retaliate more severely, lifting some sanctions to lower oil prices. Notably, Trump claimed that Iran also possesses Tomahawk missiles in connection with the attack on a girls' school in Iran. Regarding the situation in the Americas, Trump again threatened Cuba at the press conference and announced that he would remove another 100 million barrels of oil from Venezuela.
