CoinFeed reported on March 10th, citing Cointelegraph, that the political action committee Fairshake, backed by crypto companies such as Ripple Labs and Coinbase, has spent approximately $8.6 million in Illinois congressional elections. According to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission, the committee spent over $5.5 million against Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, who is running for Senate, and approximately $1.8 million against State Representative La Shawn Ford, who is running for Congress. The affiliated organization Protect Progress invested approximately $174,000 in support of Nikki Budzinski and Robin Kelly.
