CoinFeed reported on March 17 that, according to an official announcement, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) today proposed revising Rule 15c2-11 of the Exchange Act to clarify that the rule applies only to equity securities, meaning that assets such as cryptocurrencies are not covered. This rule stipulates the information collection and review requirements for brokers when quoting or maintaining continuous quotes in the over-the-counter (OTC) securities market, aiming to prevent manipulation and fraudulent trading in the OTC stock market. The proposal will be open for public comment for 60 days after its publication in the Federal Register.
