US Department of Justice: Canadian cybercriminal sentenced to one year in prison for NFT fraud

Canadian cybercriminal Cameron Albert Redman has been sentenced to one year in prison for an NFT scam. In May 2022, the 22-year-old Redman orchestrated a scheme to steal the account of digital artist X, tricking fans into visiting a fake website to "claim" NFTs, while stealing cryptocurrencies and NFT assets from victims' digital wallets.
