Gnosis and Zisk launch Ethereum Economic Zone rollup framework funded by the Ethereum Foundation.

CoinFeed reported on March 29th, citing The Block, that Gnosis co-founder Friederike Ernst and Zisk founder Jordi Baylina announced a new "easy" initiative at the EthCC conference in Cannes: the Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ). This initiative, co-funded by the Ethereum Foundation, aims to create a framework that allows Rollups to be synchronized with the Ethereum mainnet in a single transaction and interact with each other. The EEZ is designed to allow smart contracts on connected Rollups to call contracts on the mainnet or other EEEZ Rollups, providing the same guarantees as those deployed on Ethereum itself. The framework uses ETH as the default gas token and requires no additional bridging infrastructure.
