Metaplanet purchased 5,075 bitcoins in the first quarter, bringing its total holdings to over 40,000 bitcoins.

CoinFeed reported on April 2nd that Simon Gerovich, CEO of the Japanese listed company Metaplanet, disclosed on the X platform that in the first quarter of 2026, Metaplanet purchased 5,075 Bitcoins for approximately 63.645 billion yen (approximately 12.54 million yen per Bitcoin). As of March 31st, the company held a total of 40,177 Bitcoins, with a total purchase cost of approximately 623.37 billion yen (approximately 15.516 million yen per Bitcoin). The year-to-date return on Bitcoin in 2026 is 2.8%.
