US prosecutors recover $600,000 in cryptocurrency scam funds targeting Ledger users.

CoinFeed reported on April 2nd that, according to Decrypt, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Connecticut has recovered and seized over $600,000 in cryptocurrency in connection with a fraud case targeting Ledger hardware wallet users. In September 2025, victims received a forged letter purportedly from "Ledger Security & Compliance" instructing them to perform a "mandatory security check." Following the instructions, their hardware wallets were remotely controlled, resulting in the loss of approximately $234,000 in crypto assets. The FBI and state police traced the funds, ultimately seizing approximately $600,000 in USDT and filing a civil forfeiture lawsuit on charges of wire fraud and money laundering.
