CoinFeed reported on April 4th that, according to Cailian Press, the U.S. Department of Justice's request to continue its investigation into the costs of the Federal Reserve building renovation was rejected by the court, paving the way for subsequent appeals. The case may ultimately reach the Supreme Court. Chief Judge James Boasberg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia upheld the decision to dismiss two grand jury subpoenas issued by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro to the Federal Reserve. These subpoenas concerned a criminal investigation into the expenses of the Federal Reserve building renovation project and the testimony of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell to Congress. Pirro's office had requested Boasberg to reconsider his decision to dismiss the subpoenas. In his ruling on April 3rd, Boasberg stated, "The government's arguments are far from sufficient to persuade the court to make a different ruling."
