A lucky independent Bitcoin miner won a $210,000 reward for mining a block with a 1 in 28,000 chance.

CoinFeed reported on April 6th that, according to The Block, an independent Bitcoin miner using CKpool successfully mined block 943,411 on Thursday, earning a reward of approximately $210,000. This is the 312th independently mined block since CKpool's launch in 2014. The miner earned a reward of 3.139 BTC with a hashrate of approximately 230 TH/s, including a 3.125 BTC block subsidy and 0.014 BTC (approximately $937) in transaction fees. CKpool developer Con Kolivas stated that the probability of finding a block with such hashrate is only 1 in 28,000 per day. This marks the first time an independent miner has successfully mined on CKpool since February 28th, ending a 33-day hiatus.
