On April 9th, CoinFeed reported that Blockstream CEO Adam Back published an article on the X platform, again denying that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, the founder of Bitcoin. He stated that the conclusions of New York Times investigative reporter John Carreyrou suffer from "selective attribution": because Carreyrou was very active on cypherpunk mailing lists, posting far more than others, he was more likely to leave comments on topics such as digital cash, making it easier for investigators to associate his statements with Satoshi Nakamoto, which he considered a statistical bias. Back believes the remaining evidence is coincidence and the result of people with similar experiences and interests using similar wording. He pointed out that Satoshi Nakamoto needed specific skills and experience to invent Bitcoin, and that he and many others, in their previous decade of design attempts, "seemed very close to the final solution, but in reality, never quite grasped the core."
