A joint operation by law enforcement agencies in the UK, US, and Canada, "Operation Atlantic," focused on crypto "approval phishing" phishing scams. The operation has identified over 20,000 victims in the US, Canada, and the UK, frozen over $12 million in suspected criminal proceeds, and traced over $45 million in stolen crypto assets. The operation was a collaboration between the UK's National Crime Agency (NCA), the US Secret Service, the Ontario Provincial Police, and the Ontario Securities Commission. Binance provided on-chain intelligence, real-time account screening, and fraudulent website identification support. The NCA stated that it did not directly freeze funds in Binance accounts.
