Israel-Lebanon talks next week will pave the way for preliminary talks at the ambassadorial level.
CoinFeed reported on April 10 that, according to mediators and a source familiar with the matter, the planned Israel-Lebanon talks in Washington next week will be preliminary talks at the ambassadorial level, rather than higher-level talks. The mediator stated that officials attending the talks will include: Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yecher Light, Lebanese Ambassador to the United States Nada Hamad Moawad, US Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa, and former Lebanese Ambassador to the United States Simon Karam. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated on Thursday that Israel will begin direct negotiations with Lebanon, focusing on the disarmament of Hezbollah. His remarks came a day after Trump called, urging Israel to reduce its military operations in Lebanon, fearing they would jeopardize the Iran-Iraq ceasefire agreement.
