A Google spokesperson stated that the display was due to a system error, adding, "The website briefly appeared in Google News due to an error and is no longer displayed." It is understood that before its removal, users discovered that Polymarket's market predictions appeared below reports from mainstream media outlets such as Reuters and The Guardian in event-driven searches. For example, when searching for "whether ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz," related news and betting market information appeared simultaneously.
