CoinFeed reported on April 13 that, according to Jinshi News, the US Central Command stated that its blockade measures apply to all ships of all countries entering and leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas, covering all Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Ships traveling to and from non-Iranian ports and passing through the Strait of Hormuz will not be affected. Foreign media reports indicate that this action is more restrained than the situation described by Trump on Sunday, when he had previously threatened to blockade "all ships attempting to enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz." However, the announced blockade appears to be broader, targeting ships leaving all Iranian ports, apparently including ports outside the Strait of Hormuz along the Gulf of Oman. Previously, the Wall Street Journal reported that officials and sources said Trump and his advisors were considering resuming limited military strikes against Iran while simultaneously imposing a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, in an attempt to break the current deadlock in peace negotiations.
