ZachXBT: Fake Ledger Live app leads to $9.5 million theft; funds laundered via KuCoin.
CoinFeed reported on April 14th that, according to ZachXBT, between April 7th and 13th, 2026, a fake Ledger Live app listed on the Apple App Store caused losses to over 50 users, affecting assets across multiple blockchains including Bitcoin, EVM, Tron, Solana, and Ripple, with total losses estimated at approximately $9.5 million. On-chain data shows that the stolen funds were transferred through over 150 KuCoin deposit addresses and then laundered through a centralized coin mixing service called "AudiA6," known for its high fees. The largest single loss reached $3.23 million (USDT), with several other losses exceeding one million dollars. The malicious app has since been removed from the Apple App Store. The incident has also sparked discussions about the platform's review responsibilities and may foreshadow future class-action lawsuits.
