Two Brazilian musicians arrested in connection with a $300 million cryptocurrency money laundering scheme.
CoinFeed reported on April 17th, citing DL News, that Brazilian federal police arrested approximately 40 people, including musicians MC Poze do Rodo and MC Ryan SP, in a large-scale operation, accusing them of involvement in a $300 million money laundering ring. Police stated that these influencers and dozens of accomplices laundered money for illegal gambling networks and drug cartels using cryptocurrency, with fund flows recorded in an accountant's iCloud account. Police searched 24 addresses in eight states, including São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, seizing automatic rifles, luxury cars, boats, airplanes, cash, jewelry, and electronic devices. Police indicated that Ryan SP used his music production and entertainment company to mix legitimate income with funds from illegal online casinos and fraud networks, investing the laundered funds in high-value assets such as real estate, luxury cars, and jewelry.
