CoinFeed reported on April 23 that, according to Decrypt, Admiral Samuel Paparo, Commander of the U.S. Pacific Command, stated at a congressional hearing that the U.S. government currently operates a Bitcoin network node for cybersecurity testing but is not involved in Bitcoin mining. Paparo stated that the military views Bitcoin as a cryptographic tool, blockchain, and reusable proof-of-work system used to protect and enhance cybersecurity, not as a financial asset to be hoarded. He also praised the GENIUS Act, a stablecoin legislation, as an "important step" in ensuring the global dominance of the U.S. dollar.
