Bitcoin mining company MARA has established the MARA Foundation, focusing on long-term Bitcoin adoption and resistance to quantum and security budget risks.
CoinFeed reported on April 28th that Peter Thiel, CEO of Bitcoin mining company MARA, announced the establishment of the non-profit MARA Foundation, dedicated to the long-term health, resilience, and adoption of the Bitcoin protocol. The foundation will support the development of quantum-resistant tools (such as the PQ wallet and the BIP 360 proposal), believing that while quantum computing is not an immediate threat to Bitcoin, network upgrades take time, and advance preparation is crucial. The foundation will also allocate resources to ensure Bitcoin security, support the development of a robust and healthy Bitcoin transaction fee market, conduct global multilingual education programs, expand access to self-custodial tools, and advocate for policymakers and activists.
