Google tests built-in AI chat-style search feature on YouTube

CoinFeed reported on April 28th that, according to The Verge, Google is testing an AI chatbot-style search feature called "Ask YouTube" within YouTube, currently only available to US YouTube Premium users aged 18 and over. Users can click the "Ask YouTube" button in the search bar to ask questions in natural language, such as requesting video summaries or brief histories of a topic. The system will first generate a text description and a list of key points, and automatically categorize related content such as long videos and shorts, displaying them in modular terms by topic. This feature is currently in experimental testing and is not yet available to all users.
