Aptos launches Confidential APT, a new privacy coin pegged 1:1 to APT.

CoinFeed reported on April 29th that, according to Cointelegraph, Aptos has launched a new privacy coin, "Confidential APT," which is pegged 1:1 to APT. It uses zero-knowledge proofs to hide balances and transfer amounts while retaining transaction verifiability. A previous governance proposal passed this privacy feature almost unanimously. Aptos Labs founding engineer Sherry Xiao stated that this privacy coin prevents competitors from tracking a company's treasury movements and transaction strategies during on-chain transactions, solves the problem of permanent public disclosure of employee salaries due to on-chain payroll, and reduces the risk of users being profiled by wallets or targeted scams.
