Tether shareholder Christopher Harborne once donated £5 million to British politician Farage for his security expenses.

CoinFeed reported on April 29th that, according to The Block, Christopher Harborne, a billionaire and 12% shareholder of USDT issuer Tether, made a personal donation of approximately £5 million to Nigel Farage, leader of the Reform UK party, in 2024 for his security expenses. This donation was not disclosed in accordance with UK campaign finance regulations. Public documents show that Harborne had previously donated approximately £12 million to Reform UK. Reform UK advocates for making the UK a global crypto hub and supports lower capital gains tax on crypto assets; it is the first political party in the UK to accept a crypto donation.
