CoinFeed reported on April 30 that, according to Fox News, the U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI announced that international law enforcement operations, in cooperation with police in Dubai, China, and Thailand, dismantled at least nine overseas cryptocurrency scam centers, arrested 276 people, and destroyed an illicit network that stole substantial funds from Americans. These scammers used a "pig butchering" scam, enticing victims to deposit funds into fake cryptocurrency investment platforms by establishing fake friendships or romantic relationships. As part of the operation, federal authorities in San Diego unsealed wire fraud and money laundering charges against six people, including Burmese and Indonesian nationals suspected of operating "Sanduo Group" and "Giant Company." Dubai police arrested 275 suspects, and Thai police arrested one fugitive.
