Tether-enabled wallet startup Oobit launches Visa business card for AI agents.
CoinFeed reported on April 30th that, according to The Block, Oobit, a wallet startup backed by Tether, has launched virtual "Agent Cards" that allow AI agents to directly use their USDT balances to make purchases at all online merchants that support Visa, without needing to exchange for fiat currency or undergo manual approval for each transaction. Each agent receives one card, with spending limits set by category, per transaction, and per merchant, and there is no manual "forced approval" process to control risk. All transactions (including rejected ones) generate automatic reimbursement records with readable reasons. Oobit states that this provides infrastructure for future autonomous financial operations. Tether is Oobit's largest shareholder and led its $25 million Series A funding round in 2024.
