Cryptocurrency commentator Stacy Muur estimated that as of Wednesday, there had been 24 hacking incidents, resulting in losses exceeding $600 million. The KelpDAO attack, amounting to approximately $292 million, was the largest single incident that month, followed by the Drift Protocol attack, which was approximately $280 million. Drift Protocol previously stated that the attack it suffered was part of a "structured intelligence operation" that lasted approximately six months. Another notable incident was the Polkadot ecosystem protocol Hyperbridge, which lost $2.5 million due to cross-chain message forgery.
