CoinFeed reported on May 2nd that, according to the Associated Press, the U.S. Department of Defense has reached agreements with Google, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Nvidia, OpenAI, Reflection, and SpaceX to deploy artificial intelligence capabilities provided by these companies in its classified networks to assist in decision-making regarding battlefield situation analysis, target identification, and logistical maintenance. The Pentagon stated that these tools are already available to military personnel, civilian employees, and contractors through the official platform GenAI.mil, and can reduce the time required for some tasks from months to days. Anthropic, which previously had legal disputes with the government over its demands to restrict the military's use of its technology in scenarios such as autonomous weapons and surveillance of U.S. citizens, was not included in this cooperation agreement.
