CoinFeed reported on May 5th that, according to POLITICO, Polish cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto is embroiled in a controversy involving allegations of regulatory ambiguity, political donations, and ties to Russian funding. CEO Przemysław Kral previously disclosed that the company possesses a wallet containing approximately 4,500 BTC, worth about $330 million, but the company currently cannot access these assets because former head Sylwester Suszek failed to transfer the private keys during the 2021 handover and has been missing for several years. As previously reported by AP, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk accused Zondacrypto of being backed by "Russian funds" and of funding politicians associated with the former Polish nationalist conservative government and the CPAC event to be held in Poland in 2025.
