Coinbase launches self-managed superannuation fund support in Australia, allowing allocation of digital assets such as Bitcoin.
CoinFeed reported on May 5th that, according to The Block, Coinbase Australia has launched a dedicated support service for Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs), providing Australian trustees with compliant and secure digital asset investment solutions to help them incorporate crypto assets such as Bitcoin into their retirement portfolios. According to Coinbase's official blog, the service leverages its recently obtained Australian Financial Services License (AFSL) and local team capabilities, offering entity verification processes tailored to Australian fund structures, downloadable audit reports compliant with local accounting standards, and institutional-grade security. Australian Taxation Office data shows that there are currently over 653,000 SMSFs in Australia, managing assets totaling AUD 1.05 trillion, with over 1.2 million members.
