LinkedIn co-founder: As AI agents increase their demand for online identity verification, NFTs may be "reborn".
CoinFeed reported on May 7th, citing CoinDesk, that LinkedIn co-founder and Greylock partner Reid Hoffman stated at the Consensus conference that as the number of AI agents on the internet surpasses that of humans, the online world needs a better layer of identity, and NFTs may be poised for a "rebirth." He pointed out that when AI agents transact with each other, a trusted digital identity system similar to what NFTs initially attempted to solve is needed, and cryptocurrency is an obvious answer to this problem. Hoffman mentioned that he recently purchased a CryptoPunk coin because the issue of online identity is central to his AI and crypto investment logic. He cited his own AI clone, Reid AI, as an example to illustrate that as generative media technology advances, provenance will become even more important.
