CoinFeed reported on May 7th that, according to Bloomberg, translation tool company DeepL plans to lay off approximately 25% of its workforce, or about 250 people. CEO Jarek Kutylowski stated that this move is in response to a "major structural shift" brought about by artificial intelligence. He said on LinkedIn that the company will adapt to the AI ​​era by reducing management layers and accelerating decision-making. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Cologne, DeepL is considered a competitor to Google Translate. In 2024, it raised $300 million at a valuation of approximately $2 billion and had previously considered an IPO in the US.
