CoinFeed reported on May 7th that mETH Protocol announced it will gradually close its liquidity staking token, cmETH, to strengthen long-term protocol consistency. cmETH's highest TVL (TVL) reached approximately $620 million. New minting has ceased, but existing positions can still be redeemed and used for cross-chain transactions. The project stated that the final EigenLayer rewards will be distributed by mid-June 2026, and the previous reward claim window will close on November 7th, 2026; unclaimed rewards will be forfeited. If relevant AVS or partners provide TGE (transaction tokens) with supplementary rewards in the future, these will continue to be distributed to eligible users. No user intervention is required for mETH staking.
