CoinFeed reported on May 7th, citing CNN, that a document reveals Iran has established a series of new rules for ships wishing to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, ignoring US warnings and continuing its institutionalized efforts to control the waterway. The document, titled "Ship Information Declaration," was issued by Iran's newly established Persian Gulf Straits Authority (PGSA) and is required for all transit vessels to ensure safe passage. The PGSA document contains over 40 questions, requiring vessels to declare their name, identification number, former names, country of origin, and destination. It also requires declaration of the nationalities of the registered shipowner, operator, and crew, as well as cargo details. All this information must be submitted via email before transiting the strait.
